We also LOVE meeting the creators of the universes, so we have interviewed them here!

Meet Melissa Bender, a wife to a FIFO miner. Mother of three. Passionate foodie, and a vivid dreamer. Living in a small beach town in the lovely Tasmania. She spends her time between home and down at the beach… making memories, and capturing the moments.

When she’s not glued to my laptop, she’s either in the kitchen creating recipes, cooking, or having a Netflix binge session. Often, she finds herself drifting off into the world of make believe, getting lost inside the stories she writes.. She writes because it’s my passion. She wants to create a world for her readers to get lost in.. For them to swoon, and fall in love the way she does with each character made.. Oh, and she loves starbursts!

What’s the best part about being an author/writer?

Being able to express thoughts and feelings and potentially having an impact on the reader personally. I love creating stories for people to enjoy and love as much as I do.

Has any of your characters been inspired by real people?

Yes of course. In some way there is inspiration drawn from a real life experience that’s not necessarily from me personally, but something someone else has gone through. It could be a small character or lead or even the plot is based around that thing.

Which of your characters was the most fun to write?

The crazy ones. It’s always fun to have a insane psycho who causes a lot of problems for them all.

Which character of yours would you love to be real?

Jackson. I have a soft spot for him. I do love Judd tho.

How did you find having your characters interviewed for a magazine?

It was great fun! They get to have their own say and you can read what they’re up to or how they felt in a certain situation that wasn’t mentioned in the book.

Author Interview: Mel Ryle, Author of Mr. Mogul Series https://charactersmag.blvnp.com/melryleinterview/ https://charactersmag.blvnp.com/melryleinterview/#respond Fri, 28 Apr 2017 15:18:01 +0000 http://charactersmag.blvnp.com/?p=63 Here at Characters Magazine, we built a fourth wall through your favorite books by interviewing your favorite characters!

Meet Mel Ryle, author of Meeting Mr. Mogul and Dating Mr. Mogul. Mel Ryle is a Filipina writer who has just finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts Major in Advertising. An active member of Wattpad from the username Melon Diaries, and Radish Fiction. With her first published novel “Meeting Mr. Mogul”, she has won an award in an online writing community called Wattpad as talk of the town in the general fiction genre. When she isn’t writing about strong-willed, lead women characters, she’s mostly drawing another artwork or watching movies. Also, she is a huge fan of watermelon design plushies and accessories.

What’s the best part about being an author/writer?

One of the joys I have as a writer is creating different worlds and characters, which people can relate and enjoy. As an author, it is both my pleasure and honor for my readers to find some connection with these characters and stories that will help them grow as a better person. But mainly, I always strive to make them entertained with what I write.

Has any of your characters been inspired by real people?

Almost but not all of the characters I’ve created has some significant trait with certain people – either a close person or someone I look up to. For instance, one character I’ve written was in honor of my grandfather, who had been deceased since I was in second grade. He was an army veteran, which inspired the occupation of one character, George Peterson, from the Meeting Mr. Mogul series.

Which of your characters was the most fun to write?

The character I had most fun to write isn’t the main character. He’s a sidekick – as they are stereotypically put it, Terry from Meeting Mr. Mogul. Though Terry wasn’t the kind of character I had in mind while planning out the story in its early stages, he had grown as his own character as I write along. This was what made it fun writing about him.

Which character of yours would you love to be real?

Since most of my stories are set in a reality, I’m not so sure I would love to see them for real. But if you point a gun to my head – hypothetically – I’d love to meet Andy Peterson and William Maxwell from my novel Meeting Mr. Mogul. They were the two characters I’ve been with longer – nearly three years – while writing two novel-length stories about their relationship. It’ll be fun to see how they are now.

How did you find having your characters interviewed for a magazine?

It was fun having to pick my head and be inside these characters, thinking of ways how’d they respond to rhetorical questions. It gave me a different point of view of their personality that I hadn’t dealt with in the story. It is such a delight and pleasure.
